Joe Scheid is a Founding Member of Legacy Advisors. Nearly twenty-five years ago, Joe was drawn to financial planning as a way to make a positive impact on people. His unique, down to earth approach helps client identify and navigate the emotional drivers behind financial decisions. Empowering clients to make sound financial decisions, inspires Joe to this day.
Over the years, Joe has helped his business owner clients reach their financial objectives. Business owner clients have unique circumstances requiring nuanced, specialized skills. Joe has helped this unique set of clients understand the value of their business and what the overall impact their business value has on personal net worth, asset balancing, market timing and personal exit time horizons. Together, through many discovery conversations, succession objectives are identified and strategies are explore to achieve optimal results.
Joe was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Joe is a Certified Family Business Specialist and holds a Certification in Long-Term Care Planning. He has been a Board Member of the 100 Club of Arizona since 2003 (First Responders Foundation) and has served as Chairman. He shares his life with his wife Jenny and their furry son, Walter.

Diane Thomas is a Founding Member of Legacy Advisors. For Diane, Legacy Advisors is a significant piece of the puzzle. As President of Premier Sales, Inc., a 30 year-old Business Sales, Mergers & Acquisitions firm, Diane found that 9 out of 10 businesses were not in sufficient condition for a successful sale and the one saleable business was not at maximum value potential. For almost two decades, she has been in search of a team and a strategy to improve the odds of success for business owners.
Diane has dedicated her professional life in pursuit of supporting business owners and stakeholders to generate wealth, fulfill dreams and enrich lives. With expertise in business valuation, market timing, value enhancement strategies, monetizing business value and succession planning, Diane has helped business owners exceed their financial, business and personal objectives. Her business sale transactions often hit an industry high for multiple on earnings and her success rate is 75% compared to the industry’s 30%.
Diane was named one of Arizona’s Business Leaders by AZ big media in 2018. Diane earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in Quantitative Analysis and Finance from California State University, Long Beach. She holds an Arizona Real Estate Broker License and is a Certified Family Business Specialist. She is a member of the Scottsdale Chapter of Women Presidents’ Organization. Diane shares her life with her husband John and their blended family of five children.

Kristin is a native Arizonian and received her Bachelor of Science degree from ASU. She brings to Legacy Advisors a unique perspective. For many years, Kristin worked alongside her parents in a closely held mortgage company. She supported the company and thrived in a fast paced environment in the midst of a financial industry crisis embedded with family dynamics. Kristin has been at the front line and participated in the difficult discussions that created a path to survival and success. Expanding her interest in the financial services industry, she joined Joe’s financial planning firm, Strategic Financial Concepts, in 2017. By 2018, Kristin was asked to join the Legacy team as her high touch client support, intimate understanding of business owner challenges and keen business sense are invaluable assets.
Kristin shares her life with her husband, Richie, and their daughter, Taytum. In her free time, she likes to run, hike and cheer on the Arizona Cardinals.
